2025 has been a polarizing year thus far. It has been both interesting and heart-warming, yet equally heart-wrenching. Above all, there has been so much to live for; life hasn't been perfect, albeit each moment in 2025 tells its own story.  This is a review of Mohamed Bourouissa's short film , The Genealogy of Violence . On Friday, December 26, during my time at the Espoo Museum of Modern Art (EMMA), I saw the short film, The Genealogy of Violence, and it was absolutely relatable as it discussed the theme of police brutality , extrajudicial killing , and violation of fundamental human rights . Bourouissa's short film was aimed at raising awareness about how police extort youths and also dehumanize them, due to the possession of power. The Genealogy of Violence In the short film, a young French couple whose conversation about their future is abruptly cut off by a police raid. During a routine identity check, one of the protagonists is arrested. The Akwa-Cross food festival and gala night took place at Tolarantie , Helsinki , on Saturday, December 13. The gala event was established to celebrate the culture and tradition of Akwa Ibom and Cross River indigenes in Finland . Although the event was equally attended by personalities from other parts of Nigeria , the event was simply an appreciation of cultural values and an expression of the elements that make these cordial natives unique in their respective approaches to life.
