2025: The Story So Far...
2025 has been a polarizing year thus far. It has been both interesting and heart-warming, yet equally heart-wrenching. Above all, there has been so much to live for; life hasn't been perfect, albeit each moment in 2025 tells its own story.
There is still so much to learn, and that is what I hope I am able to do from now onwards as the new year gradually unravels.
What Really Happened in 2025?

In March 2025, I started my own media page, called the Uprising platform (Uprisingplatform.blogspot.com). I am glad to mention that this is a major achievement for me, Adekunle Sunday-Fajana. This platform has provided me with the opportunity to express my ideologies, share my stories, and articulate the biases that align with my narratives.
In the last couple of months, Uprising Platform has allowed me to connect with different people from various spheres of life- individuals from different creeds, races, and religions.
I genuinely do not take this for granted.
The Privilege of Getting Fired

One of the desires of every man is to work and earn some money; to earn funds and embrace the epicureanism made available to humans. I was privileged to secure a job in 2025, but I was fired almost immediately, which was one of the most heartbreaking moments for me that year.
For real, I never saw this moment coming; however, it is what it is, and here we are.
Following the heartbreaking moment, I needed to take a step back and study what just happened in my life. As my heart shattered around me, I realized that I needed to pick up the pieces and adjust to the new phase that I recently found myself.
First, I need to become more competent and proactive in my approach to life. My nonchalant attitude and indifference towards what really matters is the greatest detriment to my advancement in life; sometimes, I am my own worst enemy. Genuinely, I take the blame for my burden, lift the cross, and go through the adversity with a sack bag of regrets. To abscond from this rubble, it is my responsibility to pick myself up from the bubble of doubt, inferiority complex, and other elements of low self-esteem.
Though disheartening, getting fired is a privilege; it is a privilege to understand that you're not on top of the world and everything is fickle, including the job that puts food on your table. Jobs, money, and human existence are ephemeral; therefore, we must live to learn and learn to live.
Getting fired made me understand that there is always room for improvement and a man must pick himself up with immediate effect and re-enter the race in the pursuit of happiness, excellence, and establishing a healthy relationship with God.
Trips...

Another thing that I am grateful for in 2025 is the ability to travel. I am thankful that I can see the rooftops of various beautiful cities across the globe and learn the history of nations that were able to rebuild and reconstruct their fate and the affairs of their people. Woke up in Derby in the early part of 2025, then went on a trip to Birmingham before entering the serene environs of Helsinki and travelling by sea to have a taste of beer in Tallinn. The list goes on, and I am thankful that I can experience this with my eyes wide open.

The trips across the globe have made me see life from a bird 's-eye view. Nothing in this world is monosyllabic or monotonous; life is broad and should be lived with your wings spread out.
As an eagle, the objective of my life is to soar high into the celestial. This is my life, and I am thankful for every minute of it.
Conclusion

In the end, it will all end in praise. If it is not God, then it is nobody. 2025 was a decent year; however, there are so many things to learn. I am thankful for the lessons throughout the year, and I know that in 2026, beautiful things are coming, and I am voraciously anticipating the next phase of my life.
This is my story of the year, though tough and imperfect, I am fascinated by the lessons that life has taught me and the pivotal aspects of life to come. There are so many things to be thankful for- the gift of friends, family, acquaintances, love, and you, the reader of this article. 2025 has been fair, I am sure that 2026 will be much better, trust!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in Advance,
Uprising Platform,
Adekunle Sunday-Fajana
