Life As Fjizzle: Me Against Me

Image
Every single day when I wake up, I give thanks to the Lord for the gift of a new day before staring at myself in the mirror and reminding myself that “ I am not where I want to be yet .” Be thankful, be graceful, but never forget that there is a light that we are in pursuit of, constantly. The battle between here and there is taking forever, and I hope I’m not simply meandering with the times. I hope I am doing all that I can, living truly and thoroughly through my potential, or I’m coasting through my existence. I hope I am becoming everything that God has designed me to be. I do not understand the struggle of each day, but it’s in my place to create a sense of purpose, belonging to an establishment, or creating one- it’s me against me. Every day, all day, the battle is within me. Adekunle Sunday-Fajana That’s just life; there’ll always be a war within myself. The feud for what’s wrong and what’s right, the resentment that comes from indecision, the anxiety that comes with v...

The Dire Wolf Story: What do you know about the reawakened ‘extinct’ cat? (PHOTOS)

Image
On Easter Monday, I was at Heuraka, the science museum located in Vantaa, Finland, alongside members of the family and friends. While at the museum, we saw several magnanimous creatures in the exhibition room, the scenery was quite exhilarating. Specifically, scientists mentioned that they are  seeking various methodologies to reinstate them by bringing them back to life. It would be interesting to see what the future holds. Some of the notable creatures are the woolly mammoth , Hippidion , Saber-toothed cat , etc. There’ll be another article about my observation and documentation from the museum, however, this particular piece is for the ‘ de-extincted ’ big cat, the dire wolf . An animal that has been extinct for almost tens of centuries. It is interesting to read the research results about the carnivorous breed. Also, during a conversation with an instructor or facilitator at the museum, she explained why scientists were interested in bringing the animal back into exist...

G.R.I.N.D: Get Ready It’s A New Day

Image
I must tell you the absolute truth, the hustle never stops. This isn’t a joke, it’s a fact of nature, the grind must go on, morning, afternoon, or night, the hustle and bustle for a better life never hits a climax, probably until the day you die. In Yoruba, an adage says, “ojo iku ni ojo isimi,” which translates to “the dying day is the eventual day of rest.” Every morning when you wake up, you have to step up and do better than yesterday. Each day is the beginning of another narrative of your existence- it could be for the good or the bad, it depends on the turmoil that the day chooses to unravel. We hope for the best, however, we don’t always get what we want. We only desire what God has in store for us. aurahealth.io Regardless of the prayer, life has its own game, and we (humans) are usually the pawns out here. Stay focused, stay up, and embrace each day with the utmost confidence that you’ll emerge victorious. Since you’re alive, you’re still very much in a position to do som...

The Perks Of Being A Sunflower

Image
During the early hours of Saturday, I woke up and smelled the sunflower on the louvre. The aroma was scintillating and heartwarming, it drew me in and assured me that it’s going to be a beautiful weekend. The sunflower finds a way to fascinate the individual who is staring at it, or simply put, the admirer. Some people in our lives are sunflowers; they bloom through our turmoil and struggles, helping us fight through the adversity we face with their ease and aura. Their presence is comforting, appealing to our skin and refreshing to our medulla oblongata. The sunflower presence is worthwhile, they emerge as beauty in an ugly world and the place of peace amid the pandemonium we wage through in the chaos of our every day lives. The perks of being a sunflower As the day goes by, let the ones whom you love and admire understand that their presence in your life fascinates you and you wouldn’t toss away the memories you’ve carved together for diamond or other precious stones. Moments are...
