Prieka...to Sippin’ Fine Wine in Riga: A Trip to Latvia- 3
The first Latvian word I heard was ‘Prieka’, which means cheers in English; the other word is ‘Paldies’, which translates to ‘thank you’. I learnt these aforementioned words at the restaurant, 2 More Beers, which I first visited alongside members of my family and the Uprising Platform team when we arrived in Riga.
The
Latvian attendant whose name is Bobi (not real name) made sure we had a
great time at the restaurant. First, he gave us a card which explains some of
the basic words a tourist or immigrant such as myself should understand as soon as
he/she arrive in the city. For instance, how do you say, ‘I Love You’
in the Latvian language? It is ‘Es Tevi Milu’- hey, you can snatch a
Latvian’s heart now.

Back
to our attendant, Bobi, he was fantastic with making us made sure we are
comfortable and feel at home. While 2 More Beers had some mouthwatering dishes,
it wouldn’t be wise of me to try and pronounce some of the dishes I had, as it
means I’ll hurt my tongue. As far as I know, they were exquisite and mind-blowing,
fam, the food was incredible.

Simply
put, top-notch.
As
stated above, the customer service was impressive and the attendants were
courteous and eager to explain everything on the menu, should you have
questions and second-guessing your meal. Furthermore, our Latvian friend, Bobi, was knowledgeable about the dishes and various drinks that were made available;
he spoke about them like someone who not only attended a culinary school but is
a wine connoisseur.

Lastly, on Bobi, he was the first Latvian who taught us how to use the words ‘Prieka’ and ‘Paldies’. So, we didn’t only taste a great meal, we also learnt a new language. Therefore, make sure you make a stop at 2 More Beers as soon as you arrive in Riga.
Sippin’

Sipping
fine wine in the lounge known as Skyline, which is located on the 26th
floor of the Radisson Blu building on the 26th day of the month, is
easily one of the most poetic moments in my life. I saw the aerial view of the
ancient city of Riga, I was glad to be here, the wine made me feel fine and fly,
just look at the beautiful city lights.
Another
exquisite joint we visited was the Bella Napoli, an Italian restaurant
in Riga. We ate one of the world’s finest pizzas and gulped a cup of fine wine
to digest the sizzling hot slice of pizza. In moments such as this, you
understand that you feel fine when you sip fine wine; there is an epicurean
feeling you exude from the inside when you drink quality wine.

How
does pizza and wine really taste, my gee?

Let
me take you on a trip; as I pounced upon the pepperish pizza, the cup of wine I
gulped alongside it simply elated my mood from the terrestrial to the
celestial. The more I drank wine, the better I felt.
Food
business is good business in Riga; there are other joints such as Seafood
& Grill among several others in the city. There are restaurants at every
nook and cranny of the city with high-quality customer service; they will help
spend your funds with their broad smiles and sumptuous meals.
