House of The Man/Man of The House

What does it mean to be a man?

The House of the man

Is it money, muscles, or the embodiment of experiences garnered over the years? In the showers, as the water runs through my skin, I question the purpose of being born a man. What’s the idea behind this frame? What’s the vision for the lad who has a troubled heart?

What’s the man building? How do we describe the house of the man? The question is for eternity, from cradle to the grave, a man keeps building; he is in search of himself and purpose. The journey to self never ends, the construction of the masculine essence is always in motion, at least until his dying day and even beyond.

The spirits of men such as Martin Luther King Jnr, Malcolm X, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Nelson Mandela, and Mahatma Gandhi still live on until this day because of the house they built. Their legacy lives on; they fought for freedom, and their offspring, generations after them, enjoy some of the privileges fought for by these fallen soldiers. The house a man is building is built every day; it never stops.

He asks himself a question, then absconds into the inner workings of the city to discover the answer to his curiosity. A man seeking his essence in this world never stops; it’s every day, every hour, and every moment of his breath.

Brick by brick, a man builds himself; he doesn’t stop until his dying day. He builds himself first for himself, then his family and members of his community, his tribe, and his nation.

I hope you’re building, keep going, you’re going to be impenetrable as soon as you are evenly propounded.

Cheers.

  1. I love this part “The journey to self never ends…” Truly, learning stops when life ends. As a man, you have to keep going no matter what because the destinies of generations rest on you.
