The Beautiful Thing That Happened at the Singles’ Party in Finland (PHOTO STORY)

Image
On Saturday, July 26, the Singles Party event organized by the Association of Nigerian Community in Finland took place in Haukilahti beach, Espoo. The event was attended by single men and women from across various parts of Finland, such as Helsinki, Vantaa, Tampere, etc. It was an exciting event where programs such as networking, games, and music took place, and it was worthwhile. Specifically, the objective of the event at the beach is for men to meet women and vice versa. Everyone deserves true love and companionship; therefore, the coming together of men and women is not only ideal, it is a basic requirement for our survival as humans. Though the singles' party was predominantly attended by men from the Nigerian society, several young women from the Nigerian community were also at the event to see if they would meet their prince charming.  In this report, we’ll be looking at some of the most intriguing images from the event. Japa story: Understanding Why Nigerian Men Prefer Women Back Home to Those Abroad

Image
Japa is a common theme amongst Nigerians both at home and abroad; everyone talks about it. Young Nigerians with a troubled heart aspire to Japa and live the life that they’ve always dreamed of. They want to abscond from the heinous rulership of Nigerian leaders and find a more prosperous environment where they can thrive and create a life worthwhile for themselves and possibly, members of their family. Listening to other people’s Japa story is usually quite humorous to me. There are days you laugh at someone else’s story, and other times, you’re the laughing stock. Japa story: Understanding Why Nigerian Men Prefer Women Back Home to Those Abroad In this moment, though, I got to understand a narrative broader than a mere Japa story. I understood why men prefer to deal with their Nigerian counterparts rather than those with whom they reside or come across in Europe or North America. I’m in no position to judge people’s decision to take a life partner or whom to marry; however, ...

Once Upon A Time In Estonia: The Ferris Wheel In Tallinn Is Called A Skywheel (2)

Image
On my recent visit to Estonia, I was fortunate to ride in the most popular Ferris wheel in the country, called Skywheel. Inside the Skywheel, you can see the entirety of Tallinn- the pedestrians, drivers, and good people of Estonia going on with their daily duties. Tallinn’s SkyWheel of Tallinn is a one-of-a-kind rooftop Ferris wheel, perched atop the T1 Mall on Sõssi Hill. It reaches a stunning 120 m above sea level, making it the second‑highest observation spot in the city, just below the TV Tower.  The Ferris Wheel In Tallinn Is Called A Skywheel It offers sweeping panoramas of Tallinn city, Lake Ülemiste, the airport, and even the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Finland on a clear day as it was during my recent visit. The structure of the Ferris wheel or Skywheel as it is referred to in Estonia is quite impressive. Specifically, The wheel itself is 45 m in diameter, placed on the 35 m mall roof and a 40 m hill, altogether reaching 120 m. Also, a total of six persons per cabin...

Once Upon A Time In Estonia: The Cruise-Ferry Trip

Image
I took a trip across the sea with family to ease my mind. To relax, unwind, and enjoy the beauty, culture, and tradition of the Baltic.  The cruise from Finland to Estonia was enthralling, and there are several things that I have taken away from the experience. As a first-time cruise-ferry traveler, I didn’t know what to expect, so I just remained open-hearted to what the journey had to offer. The Cruise-Ferry Trip Hence, I sat close to the window with my camera and notepad. I watched as the ship voyaged through the waters; the sea was serene, and I heard the whispers that the waves exuded, the weather was temperate, and the cruise was quite impeccable, to be honest. Staring out the window, I enjoyed the opulence of nature, and I must now take a moment to applaud the creativity of European technicians and their engineers for such an impressive construction. This is no racist remark, it’s just pure admiration for the brilliance and impeccable ethics of the white person (o...
