Squid Game 3: Suicide, other notable events that happened in concluding season
The third part of the voraciously anticipated Netflix series, Squid Game, debuted on Friday, June 27.
The
theme of suicide and self-harm was predominant throughout the third season of
Squid Game. Lead character, Gi-hun, a previous winner who returned to the
game to ‘destroy’ the organization from the inside, took his own life in the
concluding episode of season three.
Moments before taking his own life, Gi-hun said, “We are not horses, we are
humans and the humans are...." before jumping off the cliff to sacrifice
himself over the baby.
The producers of the show mentioned that season three will be serving as the
final part of the series. The series, which peaked in 2021, received
predominantly negative reviews from pundits and social media commentators.
