Life As Fjizzle: The Strip Club Experience/The Darkness Of The Shadow World

Image
I grew up in church and attended a Christian private institution, albeit the sins of this world outweigh the sanctimoniousness that the ideology of the religion confines us to be. Religion is quintessential in upbringing- indeed, there is a God in heaven, however, there are voluptuous women on earth and marijuana that wants to take you out of the shackles of your spirit, soul, and body. There’s a thin line between sin and happiness. To be happy, you’ll have to lose some form of righteousness; you have to embrace the darkness in your heart and lock into the lightest or darkest(depending on who you ask) moments that the world has to offer. Sometimes, the messages from the pulpit get boring. You need to drift off a little—complications here and a bit of self-destruction there—to make you feel like you’re living a purposeful life. I was only a burgeoning teenager at the time; what did I know? Let loose, let go, and let those kinky, unclad women run their fingers through your sk...

Life As Fjizzle: Adekunle Sunday-Fajana

Image
Fjizzle wakes up in the middle of the night and asks God to help him with the strength to make something of his life. With an aching heart, you can only be thankful for the privileges and grace that God has blessed you with. This article is coming up around 4:08am on Sunday morning, and I am  writing this piece in a shirt and a tie. Dressed up in a two-piece suit, I am fascinated by the epicureanism that surrounds me, with a glass of juice on the table, I chew my cookies along as I write about what hurts me the most. Life ought to be simple, worth living, nothing tedious, just the absolute embrace of all the beautiful things that God has bestowed upon us. Life As Fjizzle: Adekunle Sunday-Fajana In this moment, I am easily one of the happiest persons in the world- the trees, grass, and the grabbing of ass have made life interesting, life is what we make of it, and in this moment, I close my eyes to reminisce upon some of the most worthwhile highlights that my heart can reconne...

Born Again: The importance of starting afresh

Image
In this article, the author will explain the importance of starting afresh. Each day brings us the opportunity to begin again, to start life from where we are and continue to pursue the objective of our individuality and seeking freedom, whatever that means to you. The average Nigerian youth is embarking on a journey that they simply do not understand. In higher institutions, they are only there simply because they want to either leave the house or make their parents proud. The Nigerian education system isn’t structured to properly aid in the development of young scholars who are trying to achieve the aims and objectives of their respective lives. At the tender age of 16 (which is the average age to round up secondary school), most students get admission into higher institution, while they are there, they are given courses that neither aligns with their strength and essence, hence, they spend the first quarter of their lives meandering through a quagmire of maze without proper ...

Buyer’s Remorse: You shouldn’t feel bad for satisfying your craving

Image
Dear friend, you need to get rid of your buyer’s remorse. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what you acquired last weekend; you desired it, and you went for it. You have done what is best for you, and I simply hope you enjoyed. This article is coming after I spent the entirety of my last month’s salary on shopping. I am the type of person who enjoys having fun; I enjoy spending time at the bar, eating barbeque and chicken while stepping it down with a cold bottle of wine, friends, and life should be lived. Afterwards, I took a trip down to the shopping mall where I spent a huge amount of cash to style and profile. I have a flair for looking good, and spending time to pick up some gorgeous clothes is one of those things that I do with ease. Buyer’s Remorse: You shouldn’t feel bad for satisfying your craving At least, once a month, I go shopping. I try to switch up my wardrobe every now and then; hence, the objective for me is never to be caught ‘unfresh’. After all, looking good is...

Life As A Swan (A Photo Story)

Image
In psychology, the swan is a symbol of awakenness. Developing the knowledge of self, grace, balance, and self-esteem. This article was born during my conversation with a friend of mine earlier in the month of March. A swan seems to be my spirit animal. Specifically, boys like me are swans. Those people who suffered low self-esteem growing up but suddenly developed a healthy self-worth through continuous self-development, pursuit of happiness, and, of course, a relationship with God. Life as a swan (Photo credit: Asko Lippo) Swans are large, graceful waterbirds belonging to the genus Cygnus. They are known for their long necks, white or black plumage (depending on species), and strong pair bonds. It is important to note that the photos in this article were taken by my friend, Asko Lippo .  Here are some key facts to note about swans: Species: The most common swan species include the mute swan (Cygnus olor), whooper swan (Cygnus cygnus), trumpeter swan (Cygnus buccinator), and...
